W. Kendall Kendall Construction Co. As Stated on the application~ a variance is requested to build a sinqle family residence on a 50' lot. Bart Alameda represented Kendall Construction Company. He stated that Kendall Construction purchased 30 lots. This was one of the first lots and he was under the impression it would meet the requirement for building. The~e is a building to the west and to the east and there is no land available. This lot was purchased about a year ago. Mr. Lucas stated that the 60' requirement has been in effect since 1962. If it had been investigated~ you would have found out it was a 50' lot. Mr. Alameda stated that he checked with City Hall and f~ some reason he was told that he could build on the lot so they went ahead with the purchase. ~en Mr. Alameda was questioned: he could not remembe~ who~ in the Building Department~ gave him the information. Kati Plilter, 206 N.W. 13 Avenue~ objected to the request because the recreation center is next door to this property. There is no pa~king facilities and she cannot see a house going in there. It will be very inconvenient and uncomfortable for people to live next to the canter. -1- MINUTES BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT DECEMBER 18, 1972 There were no other objections. Mr. Rutter moved to grant the variance, seconded by Mr. Cousins. Motion carried 5-0. Variance granted. Parcel ~2 - Relief from 25' front setback requirement to 5' front setback~ to build the following: West Gatehouse - Located West side of A-1-A approx. 220' N. by NNW of the SE Cot. of Lot 16~ Benson Bros. S/D, recorded in Plat Book 5~ Page 27~ Palm Beach County Re cords East Gatehouse - Located approx. 575' SSE of the SE Cot. of Lot 16 Benson Bros S/D on the East side of A-i-A Applicant: Hawkins & Mouw General Contractors 409 N.E. 3r~ ST., Delray Beach Representing St. Andrews Corp. As stated on the application~ a variance is requested to build two gate houses with 5~ front yard setback designed for security purposes and required to be located as close to the street as possible. No one was present to represent the applicant. The Board members discussed the application. Mr. Rutter stated that he thinks someone should be present to represent the applicant. Mr. Beane stated that something must have happen or a representative would be here. There were no objections to the request. Mr. Beane moved to table any action on this parcel so that a representative can be present~ seconded by Mr. Cousins. Motion carried 5-0. Mr. Cousins moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Rutter.
