Minutes 10-02-72MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING .HELD~AT CITY HALL, BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA OCTOBER 2, 1972 at S:S0 P.M. PRESENT Mr. Ezell Hester Mr. Robert Beane Mr. F. Ward~ Mr. L. Cousins Mr. F. Lucas Mr. W. Rutter, Alternate Mr. Robert Ness, Building Inspector Mr. HeSter called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. Mr. Hester then read a letter from Gene Moore, City Attorney. Parcel # 1 Relief from 25' rear setback requirement to 23' rear setback, Lot 10 Block 7, Golfview Harbour Sect. 1, Recorded in Plat Book 26, Page 178 Palm Beach County Records Address: 1017 S. W. 27 Avenue Applicatn: Snow Construction Inc. The reason for the variance is because the lot is too short for the regular model. Mr. Greenman represented Snow Construction. He explained that a variance is requested because the lot is shallow. The lot is on the waterway. There were no objections received. ~. Cousins moved that the request be granted, seconded byMr. Beane. Motion carried 5-0. Variance granted. Parcel # 2 Relief ~om 30' setback requirement on the portion adjoining R-2 zoned property to 15' setback Lots 17 & 18 Block E Hathaway Park Recorded in Plat Book 13,.Page 17, Palm Beach County Records Address 1006 East Railroad Ave. Applicant: Steel Form Inc. The reason for the request is to build the building 15' South in order to obtain parking. Mr. Wagner represented Steel FO~m, Inc. He explained that this is East of the Railroad track. It will be a CBS building. Mr. Nolan Williams, 1105 S. E. 2nd Street stated that there is a traffic problem there. He is not objecting to the setback but there is not enough parking space there and something should be done about it. They try to park on 2nd Street which is only a 30' right-of-way and it is not wide enough. If the street was paved more, then there would be room to park. It is becoming a hazard. He is not objecting to the variance he is trying to improve the situation. It would be better for everyone if the street was put through. - 2 Board.of Adjustment 10-2'-72 Mr. Wagner stated that he was told they have to have one parking space for every 200' and we cannot back on to the street that is why they have requested the variance. Mr. Hester suggested that Mr. Williams bring this before the City Council or the City Manager because it is out of the Board's jurisdiction. A letter of objection was received from J. C. and Betty Laneer. Mr~ Beane moved that the request be granted, seconded by Mr. Ward. Motion carried, 5-0. Variance granted. Parcel # 3 Relief from 25' rear setback requirement to 14.4" rear setback Lot 27 Harbor Estates Recorded in Plat Book 21, Page 98 Palm Beach County Records Address: 622 South Road Applicant: Albert R. Hermanson Mr. Jim. Russell of Boca represented Mr. Hermanson. He stated that it is an error on his part. Most of these houses are on 15' to 18' setback. There is nothing a house. - There were no objections. Mr. cousins moved that the request be granted secon~d by Mr. Luc~. 5-0. Motion carried Mr. Beane moved to adjourn, seconded by Pk. Ward.
