PUBLIC HEARING
Variance in set back requirement on rear lot
line of Lots 156 and 157, Block B, Boynton Hills
Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 51,
PaLm Beach County Records.
Address: 206 N.W. 5th Avenue
Owner & Applicant: Arthur J. O'Connor
Mr. Yates read a letter of objection to this request from ¥~. and Mrs.
John Sckmidt, 220 Portion Rd., Lake Ronkonkoma, New York.
Mr. Arthur Jo 0'Conn°r came forward to speak in favor of this re-
quest and stated that these lots were laid out rather odd and
irregular. He stated that at the southeast corner the line coming
in diagonally runs short and it is at this poLut that he is asking
for the variance. Mr. O'Connor stated that he needs another bedroom
and bath and that he intends to put in a pool with a screen enclosure.
In answer to Mr. Sarno's question, Mr. O,Connor stated he plans to
start work in a month or so and does plan to stay in this house and
live there and that the bedroom addition is a necessity.
Mr. Davis noted that Mr. O,Connor needs 25' on the corner of Lot 157
but he only has lO', and that the bedroom addition will be on the
southeast corner and that the screen enclosure is between the bed-
room and house. Mr. Blanchette stated an 8' setback is the rule on
screen enclosures. It was noted that the variance requested has
nothing to do with the screened pool area.
Mrs. Hellbig, a friend of Mr. & ~s. Schmidt, came forward and stated
that she was not speaking in opposition but had just come in to see
what was going on so she could let Mr. & Mrs. Schmidt know the outcome.
Mr. Wehrell made a motion that the variance be granted. Mr. Sarno
seconded. It was noted and agreed by all members of the Board that
all these lots are badly laid out and that all these people are entitled
to variances. The motion was unanimously carried.
Meeting adjourned at 5:15 P.M.
