AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 9-16 OF THE CODIFIED
ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY PERTAINING TO MASTER AND SIGN-
MASTER ELECTRICIANS.' RENEWAL CERTIFICATE FEES;
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDAiENT OF SECTION
15-26 ~.OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY PERTAINING
TO OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FEES FOR MASTER AND SIGN-
MASTER ELECTRICIANS, SIGN PAINTER AND SIGN CONTRACTOR;
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT OF SECTION 15-28
OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY PERTAINING
TO REQUIREMENT OF VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION: FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY,. AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION
HERF~F? AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
PREAMBLE
This ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure enacted
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property,
health and safety of the inhabitants of the CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA, and for the efficient daily operation of the
Municipal Building and Licensing Departments of said City.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 9-16 of the codified ordinances of the City
of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended to read:
Sec. 9-16. Certificate of Competency - Renewal Fees.
The renewal fees £or master and sign-master electrician
certificates shall be Five(S5.00) Dollars per annum, and
for journeymen, sign journeymen, maintenance and appliance
electricians, said renewal fee shall be Two ($2. 00) Dollars,
per annum.
All money paid for examination and renewal fees shall be
paid by the electrical inspector daily as received into the
Finance Department of the City.
SECTION 2: Section 15-26 of the codified ordinances of the City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, setting forth the license tax schedule of said City is
hereby amended in the following particulars:
Master electrician-
Sign- master electrician
Sign painter
Sign Contractor
Annual Fee - $45.00
Annual Fee - $45.00
Annual Fee - $30. 00
Annual Fee - $30. 00
In all other particulars said license tax schedule shall remain~.a.s
presently in effect.
SECTION 3: The amendments provided for in Section 1 and Section 2
hereinabove shall be considered effective as of November 1st, 1964, the in-
ception date for the present licensing year and any necessary adjustments re-
quired by this amendment shall be made by said Licensing Officer as of said d e.
Section 4: Section 15-28 of the codified ordinances of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended to read:
Sec. 15-28. Identification of vehicles required.
Any and all trucks, automobiles or other vehicles
operated or used in connection with any business, occupation,
or profession, conducted within the municipal limits of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida, shall have affixed thereto
in a visable location to be designated by the City Licensing
Officer, a decal identifying said vehicle, which decal shall
be coded in such a manner as to make available to the
City or other interested persons~ the name and address of
the business~ occupation or profession in which said truck,.
automobile or other vehicle is used. Such decal shall be
prepared by the City Licensing Officer and issued by said
Officer.
SECTION 5. Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation violatin~
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be fined
in an amount not exceeding $500.00, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for
a period not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each
day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a
separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
SECTION 6: Repealing Provisions. All ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7: Separability. Each of the provisions of this
ordinance are separable, incl~ding word, clause, phrase, or sentence, and
if any portion hereof shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall not
be affected but shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 8: Authority to Codify. This ordinance may be codified
and incorporated into the City's existing code.
SECTION 9: Effective Date. This ordinance is deemed to be
an emergency ordinance and shall become effective immediately.
