11-28-23 AHAC Minutes of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) Workshop, Held on Wednesday, November 28, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. Held at Boynton Beach City Hall, 100 East Ocean Ave, Boynton Beach, Florida 33435 PRESENT: Dr. Hayden Adeyemo RJ Ramirez, Community Improvement Manager Michael Corbit Amanda Radigan Kerry Clinton Keturah Joseph Nelson London Tara Okler Cheryl Banks (Arrived 6:04 P.M.) Keturah Joseph, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:02 P.M. followed by roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance (Cheryl Banks arrived.) The position of Vice Chair was available. Chair Joseph asked if there were any volunteers. Kerry Clinton volunteered to serve. There were no other nominations or volunteers. Roll call was taken and the vote was unanimous. A question was posed who the former Vice Chair was. Mr. Ramirez explained that the former Vice Chair was Kevin Homer, who sat as a member of the local planning commission. He resigned and the Vice Chair position on the AHAC became open. He explained that the appointment of Vice Chair Clinton will go to the City Commission for ratification and that the terms are for three years per Statute. He said that the Committee had met quarterly, but that the Florida Housing Finance Corporation rules changed and they will have to meet once a year to produce this report. He mentioned that this would result in the City receiving $350K for affordable housing a year, and that the Committee will meet again in September. Public Comment— None. Chair Joseph asked if the members read the Housing Incentives sent via email and that the Committee needs to approve the incentives so they can be sent to the City Commission for adoption and then to the State. She said that the motion is that the Committee recommends the City Commission approve the incentives. Meeting Minutes Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Boynton Beach, Florida November 28, 2023 Roll call was taken and the report was unanimously approved as written. Dr. Hayden asked for an update on parcels available for affordable housing in the City. Mr. Ramirez responded that they are posted on the City Website, under the SHIP Community Improvement link which has printed inventory of vacant lots in the City that are owned by the City and County. He said that some of the vacant lots are set for affordable housing.
