4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
5 BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO 2024 FORD
6 MAVERICK HYBRID PICK-UP TRUCKS FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL
7 AMOUNT OF $57,540, PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF TWENTY-TWO
8 PERCENT (22%) FOR VEHICLE INCREASES IN THE EVENT THESE
9 VEHICLES ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND NEW MODELS ARE
10 DEUVERED; AND RATIFYING ADDITIONAL PURCHASES ASSOCIATED
11 WITH THE CITY'S ACQUISITION OF A 2023 FORD F-150 TRUCK;
12 PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR ALL OTHER
13 PURPOSES.

15 WHEREAS, On January 16, 2024, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R24-
16 018, for the purchase of two (2) 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid for Community Standards, for the
17 replacement of units 7605 and 7701, by utilizing the pricing of the Florida Sheriff's Association
18 Contract FSA23-VEL31.0, for a total amount of $58,722.62, issuing purchase orders #240950
19 and #240974; and
20 WHEREAS, the Fleet Department has located (2) 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid pick-up
21 trucks and, given the delays with manufacturer allocations and building of trucks, is
22 requesting the approval to issue a purchase order to Alan Jay, by utilizing the pricing of
23 Sourcewell Contract 2024 09152-NAF, for an estimated total amount of $57,540.00; and
24 WHEREAS, the trucks are on the ground and will make an immediate impact when
25 injected into the fleet, replacing aging units 7605 & 7701, for the Community Standards
26 Department, with a total savings of $1,182.62. The Fleet Department will have the existing
27 purchase orders #240950 and #240974 canceled; and
28 WHEREAS, on October 2024, the Building Department requested a new unit to be
29 purchased, and purchase order#240473 was issued to Alan Jay for an amount of $49,877.00
30 for a 2023 Ford F-150 Truck, by utilizing the pricing of the Sourcewell Contract 2024 09152-
31 NAF. Upon receipt, the Fleet Department requested the vendor to upfit the unit for an
32 additional cost of $3,085.00 for the tow package and spray-on bedliner, for a total cost of
33 $52,962.00. The up-fitting was paid with the Division Director's P-card; and
34 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, upon the
35 recommendation of staff, deems it to be in the best interests of the City residents to approve
36 the purchase of two 2024 Ford Maverick hybrid pick-up trucks for an estimated total amount
37 of $57,540, plus a contingency of twenty-two percent (22%) for vehicle increases in the event
38 these vehicles are no longer available and new models are delivered, and ratify the additional
39 purchases associated with the acquisition of a 2023 Ford F-150 truck.
40 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
41 BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
42 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
43 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
44 hereof.
45 SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of two 2024 Ford
46 Maverick hybrid pick-up trucks for an estimated total amount of$57,540, plus a contingency
47 of twenty-two percent (22%) for vehicle increases in the event these vehicles are no longer
48 available and new models are delivered, directs the Fleet Director to cancel PO #240950 and
49 #240974, and ratifies the additional expenditure of $3,085 associated with the acquisition of
50 a 2023 Ford F-150 truck.
51 SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective as provided by law.
