Additionally, Ms. Pierre said she has roof issues and will be hiring a contractor to fix it. She expressed concern the contractor will mess up the landscaping. She asked for an extension for the grass. Ms. Zalman suggested Ms. Pierre inform the contractors not to step on the grass. The Special Magistrate Hearing date was July 19, 2023, and respondent did appear. A compliance date was set for July 28, 2023, or a fine 9 of$150 per day, plus administrative fees. Property was posted on January 23, 2024. The property was last inspected on February 13, 2024, and the violation still exists. There are 208 days of non-compliance. As of this date, the fine is $31,200, plus administrative fees of$384.12. The total is $31,584.12 Officer Estime confirmed the City was unable to abate because the owner did not vacate the property. Nine Clark, respondent, was present. Ms. Zalman asked Ms. Clark if she was able to vacate the property so the City can abate the bees. Ms. Candice Stone, Community Standards Director, clarified that Ms. Clark would need to complete vacate. The City is unable to abate properties that are homesteaded and occupied. Ms. Clark stated she could live somewhere else. Ms. Stone said the City is trying to work with her to get the issue resolve. Ms. Zalman recommended that Ms. Clark work with the City to identify a date to vacate the property so abatement can occur. Ms. Zalman noted the fine will be a lien on the property. Officer Estime reviewed the other landscaping maintenance issues with the property. Fine Certification Case No. 23-0728 FINNERTY VIRGINIA R Property Address: 443 SW 8TH AVE Officer Estime presented the case. The property owner has applied for an extension of time and has paid the administrative fees. The respondent requested the compliance date be moved from October 19, 2023 to December 26, 2023. The property is in compliance and the City does not object to the extension request. Ms. Zalman agreed to the extension and the case is closed. Sharon Wynne, daughter of respondent, was present. She asked for a refund of the court fees. Ms. Zalman said that issue would have to be taken up with the City. The Special Magistrate Hearing date was November 15 2023, and respondent did appear. A compliance date was set for December 30, 2023, or a fine of $150 per day, plus administrative fees. He stated the property owner has requested an extension of time and paid the administrative fees. The respondent requested the compliance date be moved from January 12, 2024 to April 3, 2024. Amber Dariano, respondent, was present. Officer Guillaume stated permit is in process and only an inspection is needed to close out the case. He presented the written request for extension to Ms. Zalman. Ms. Dariano stated permits were applied for on December 14, 2023 and the $384.12 administrative fees were paid.
