VII. Public Audience
Lori Wilkinson stated that she and Dave Wilkinson were present to speak about SunFest.
She said that for the last two years, the Board participated in manning a booth at SunFest
as a fundraiser, in partnership with the Kickstart Foundation. She explained that the
Board Members would man the Beer Tent, serving cans and bottles only and that people
leave cash tips, which are split between the two groups. She pointed out that many
people come on behalf of the Board which helps increase the Board's percent of funds
received. She announced that SunFest is May 3rd to the 5th and that they need help on
Saturday and Sunday still. She said that Ms. Claude sent out the performance schedule
and they get in for free. She mentioned that they would like actual Board Members to
participate.
Mr. Wilkinson said that they have a lot of shifts available for both Saturday and Sunday
nights and Sunday afternoon. He noted that the shifts are about five hours long.
There was discussion that if it is a full shift, there is plenty of time for the volunteers to
walk around because SunFest always over staffs.
Chair Valcourt encouraged the members to participate. She said that she did send the
information to one of the schools that she supports. She emphasized that the event was
beneficial and that a lot of the money the Board has, had come from this event. She asked
if they can sign up for more than one shift the same day.
Ms. Wilkinson responded that Friday has one shift and that one thing different this year
is that SunFest brought back the arts. She also stated that SunFest is cashless this year.
