I. Call to Order
Chair Valcourt called the meeting to order at 6:08 P.M.
II. Pledge of Allegiance
The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Ill. Roll Call
Catherine Cherry, Minutes Specialist called the Roll. A quorum was present.
IV. Approval of Agenda
Motion
Mr. Macedo moved to approve the agenda. Ms. Calixte-Dieuvil seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

VII. New Business
A. Approval of Minutes of March 28, 2024
Motion
Mr. Macedo moved to approve the March 28, 2024, Meeting Minutes. Ms. Calixte-
Dieuvil seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
B. Approval of Minutes of April 25, 2024
Motion
Mr. Macedo moved to approve the minutes of April 25, 2024. Mr. Camacho seconded
the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
C. Youth Symposium
Chair Valcourt advised that she added this item as they want to collaborate with the
Recreation and Parks Department to add to the Youth Symposium at the Carolyn Sims
Center and she requested obtaining the information so the Board can reach out to them.
She noted that the Board had wanted to hold a similar event targeting high school
students, and offer sessions on mental health, financial literacy, essay and resume
writing, that would be beneficial to the. When they learned about the existing
Symposium, they thought they could work together and increase the turnout.
Ms. Claude said that she will email the information to Chair Valcourt.
Chair Valcourt explained the function of the Symposium and what is covered. She said
that last year, about 20 people participated and that the Board should continue to work to
support this event.
Mr. Macedo noted that the event was held April 10th
Chair Valcourt stated that she will contact them and plan for something as a partner.
D. Future Meeting Dates
Chair Valcourt recalled that the Board had discussed having less meetings during the
summer.

Mr. Macedo recalled that they would keep the monthly meetings, but not meet in June
and July and reconvene in August. He explained that the Board does not meet in
November and December due to the holidays.
VIII. Old Business
A. Fundraising Proposals & Outreach
Chair Valcourt noted that they have scholarship funds earned from SunFest, that would
cover the.
Mr. Camacho stated that he volunteered for SunFest for one day and he said that he
was told that Sunday the Booth made the most money. He advised that other
individuals did support the Board, but that he was the only one from the Board working
on the shift that he chose. He mentioned that it was fun and they need to figure out a
way to fundraise more. He said it was enlightening and informative.
Chair Valcourt said that on Tuesday, she presented the scholarship on behalf of the
Board. She stated that since inception of the award, they distributed $30K to 50
students. She said that this year's winner, Leah Collins, will receive the $1 K award and
that she graduated with a 4.9 GPA from the International Baccalaureate Program from
Atlantic High School. She read Ms. Collins numerous accomplishments and activities.
IX. Future Meeting Dates: TBD
Chair Valcourt stated that the next meeting will be August 22nd

There being no further business to discuss, Ms. Calixte-Dieuvil seconded the motion.
Mr. Macedo seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
