3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
4 ADOPTING A PROPOSED MUNICIPAL MILLAGE RATE FOR
5 GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET PURPOSES FOR FISCAL YEAR
6 2024-2025,STATING A ROLLED-BACK RATE,AND SETTING THE
7 DATE, TIME AND PLACE OF THE FIRST PUBLIC HEARING;
8 PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

11 WHEREAS, pursuant to section 200.065(2)(b), Florida Statutes, it is the responsibility of
12 the Municipality's governing body to advise the Property Appraiser of its proposed millage rate,
13 rolled-back millage rate, and the date, time, and place of the first public hearing at which the
14 proposed millage rate and tentative budget will be considered.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
16 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
17 SECTION 1. The above-referenced "Whereas" clauses are incorporated herein by
18 reference.
19 SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby sets a
20 proposed millage rate of 7.800, which has been computed to fund the General Operating Budget
21 for Fiscal Year 2024-25. The rolled-back rate is 7.4229. The current year's proposed rate as a
22 percent change of the rolled-back rate is 5.08%.
23 SECTION 3. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby sets
24 September 3, 2024, at 6:00 P.M., at Commission Chambers, Boynton Beach City Hall, 100 East
25 Ocean Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL 33435, as the date, time, and place of the first public hearing
26 to consider the proposed millage rate and the tentative budget.
27 SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby
28 authorized to execute and submit DR-420 Certification of Taxable Value to the Palm Beach County
29 Property Appraiser's Office.
30 SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
31 adoption.
