BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY-COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF
BOYNEON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. E~e duties and responsibilities of the ,position
of Golf Cart Mechanic is hereby adopted and shall be in accordance
with hhe job description attached hereto and made a-part hereof.
Section 2. That the position of Golf Cart Mechanic shall
be pay grade 24 and shall be a part of the City's pay plan.

GOLF CART MECHANIC
Specialized mechanical maintenance work repairing and maintaining electric
and gasoline golf carts and related equipment. Employee in this classification
performs skilled tasks by assigrm~nt under general supervision of the Golf Course
Superintendent or his designee. Work activities include charging and changing
batteries, tires, replacing worn parts, oil, adjusting brakes, lubricating carts
and scheduled preventative maintenance. Responsibilities also include general
maintenance of buildings and facilities as assigned. Employee may direct activities
or train new employees in work assignment on an as needed basis or in a lead worker
capacity. Work assists require the ability to exercise independent judgment
concerning diagnosis of a problem and method of repair. Performance is evaluated
by observation of work in progress and/or by observation of results obtained.
~.LUSTRATIVE TASKS

Repairs and maintains City owned golf cart_equ$.pment.
Performs mechanical repair, adjustments and maintenance of various parts and
systems, including batteries, tires, brakes accelerators, etc.
Performs routine preventative maintenance according to a prescribed schedule.
Provides emergency service in the event vehicles break down on course.
Overhauls and services assemblies and accessories, as required. ~
Maintains safe, clean and orderly work area.
Safely uses hand and power repair and maintenance tools; ensures equipment
is in proper repair.
Road tests vehicles to ensure adequate repair and operation.
Prepares new equipment and vehicles for service.
May consult with other departmental personnel or private cu~anies to
coordinate work activities as needed.
Responsible for proper completion of work orders, parts requisitions and
record keeping related to specified task, in accordance with depa~h,~ntal requirements.
Must make sure that all carts are charged and gased up for the start of each day.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
KNOWT,EDGE, ABILITY AND SK]7I,S
Good working knowledge of the principles of operation of gasoline and electric
golf carts and similar equipment.
Ability to keep accurate records of service and repairs.
Ability to set up shop area and parts inventory area.
Ability to carry out cu~,~lex oral and written instructions.
Considerable knc~ledge of safety rules and regulations for working around
gasoline and electric carts.
Skilled in the use and care of tools and equi~nent.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other
employees and the general public.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRA/NING
High school graduate or equivalency is preferred supplement with minimum of
two years specific vocational preparation or two years of practic experience or any
equivalent combination.
Must posses a current valid Florida Chauffeur's license.
