A RES~OLUTI~ON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON~EACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE JOB DESCRIPTIONS
FOR RECORDING SECRETARY, and I.D. TECItNICt~. AND AMENDING
THE PAY GRADE OF SANITARY OFFICER.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CItY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The duties and responsibilities of the
positions o~ Recording Secretary and I. D. Technician are
hereby adopted and shall be in accordance with the job
descriptions attached hereto and made a part hereof, both
at pay grade 22.
Section 2: That the pay grade of Sanitary Officer is
hereby changed~rom pay grade 25 to pay grade 30.

Requirements:
A. Education and Training
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by specialized training
in fingerprint identification or equivalent combination o~ experience
and education.
B. _Knowledge, Abilities and Skills'
Knowledge of fingei:print identification teclmiques. Sk~ i~ makhag
positive matches of latent prints.
Ability to explain to court and law enforcement offiOah basis of
positive identificatiOn of fingerprints.

Characteristics of tAe Job ,,~d Nature of Work:
Under the general supervision of the City C!erk~ performs responsi-
ble stenographic and Other clerical duties including Verbat~-trans_
criptions of City Council and other Board meetings_
~xam~les of Duties and Illustrative Tasks:
1. Takes and transcribes minutes of City Council an~
various Board meetings with full responsibility for
completeness and accuracy of transcription. Uses
tape recorder, shorthand notes; knowledge of speciaIized
terminology and Other resources to Prepare verbatim
record of meeting proceedings.
Types final copy of meeting minutes for distri~utio~ to
City Council members or other appropriate BOard merahers.
2. Processes applications to Board of Adjustment and
and Zoning Bo~ard. COmpares documents submitted with
established procedures to verify completeness ar~tacc~uracy.
Types notices of meetings using standard format~ &sc~rtains
property owners within 400' of applicant and notifies them
as to request of applicant. Types legal notices for news-
paper publication using standard format.
3o Performs a variety of responsible tasks such as re9istratio~
of Voters; selling beach decals~ indexing,City CO~U~cil
minutes~ ordinances and resolutions ~sing establishe~
indexing system; takes inventory of office e~ipment and
maintains inventory records.

Knowledge of specialized terminology related to city meetings_
Knowledge of prescribed formats and procedures.
Skill in taking verbatim minutes of meetings.
Skill in typing and transcribing of dication of meetings.
Ability to Operate tape recorder and Other office equipment_
Willingness to attend evening meetings to provide clerical support to
the City Council and to the City Boards.

Minimum Training and~EX~erience:
.Completion of four years of high school education, possession
of a GED or other certificates of competency.
Three years of re'sponsihle clerical experience including or~e
year of work taking and transcribing minutes of info~mal meetings
