CIVIL SERVICE FOR SAID MUNICIPALITY.
~S, pursuant to the Charter of the City of
B~ynton Beach, Florida, the M~cipsl Personnel Officer has
heretefore recommended certai~ amendments to R~les and Regulations
of Civil Service of the said City~ a copy of which proposed
amendments a~e attached hereto; and
~HER~I¢S, the City Manager has reviewed saXd proposed
amendments amd has a~proved them ~without modification; and
~HEREAS, after thorough review of such proposed
amendments, the City Council deems that the enactment and adoption
of same is in the best interests of efficient administration of
the municipal personnel system;
NOW, TEEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY ~HE CITY COUNCIL OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:

currently existing Rules and Regulatiams of Civil Service of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida, attached ~reto a~d hereby made a
oart hereof, be and the same are hereb~y a~pproved, ratified ~ud
adopted,
S~ection 2: In all other,respects subject Rules and
Regulations of Civil Service are hereby ratified ~ud confirmed as
heretofore adopted and amended.

RULE XI, Section 5, page 33 of the Civil Service Rules and'
Regulations should be amended as follows:
On the Job Injury
Whenever an employee is totally disabled from duty for a period
of no more than seven C7) calendar days because of an inj%lry
determined to be compensated under the provision of the Workman's
Compensation Act, he shall be entitled to ~ull regular pay. If
the period of disability is greater than seven (7) ~alendar days
the employee may electro receive accrued sick leave in accordance
with his regular hourly wage, to the extent that his cora~ined
sick leave and workman's compensation benefits equal hi~ regular
weekly ... salary. The employee must contact the payroll clerk to
qualify for this combined check.

RULE VIII, Section 12. page 20 of the Civil Service Rules and
Regulations should be amended as follows:
D. No person shall be admitted to an examination for Detective
until he has served a minimum of eighteen (18) consecutive months
as Patrolman on the local force.
E. No person shall be admitted to promotional examination for
Sergeant until he has served a minimum of ~hree (3) consecutive
years on the local force.
F. No person shall be admitted to promotional examination for
Lieutenant ~ntil he has served a minimum of two (2) consecutive
years as Sergeant or Detective on the local force. All candidates
for this position must have taken a recognized eo~rse i~basic
supervision.
