4 BEACH, FLORIDA,APPROVE THE TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES IN THE
RIGHT LANE OF STATE ROAD 5 (FEDERAL HIGHWAY) FROM NE 15TH
r, AVENUE TO GATEWAY BOULEVARD AND APPROXIMATELY 400 FEET
OF THE LEFT LANE HEADING SOUTHBOUND FROM GATEWAY
BOULEVARD ON STATE ROAD 5 (FEDERAL HIGHWAY) ON FRIDAY,
JULY 4, 2025 FOR THE ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY EVENT, AND AUTHORIZE
I l) THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO APPLY FOR THE STATE PERMIT
11 FOR THE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE; AND FOR ALL OTHER
12 PURPOSES.

14 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach's annual 4th of July Celebration is scheduled to be
I5 held on Friday, July 4, 2025; and
16 WHEREAS, in order to provide for the safety of the participants and citizens attending the
17 celebration, the right lane of State Road 5 (Federal Highway) from NE 15th Avenue to Gateway
is Boulevard and approximately 400 feet of the left lane heading Southbound from Gateway
19 Boulevard on State Road 5 (Federal Highway), will be required to be closed beginning at 12:00
20 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. or until safe to reopen, to accommodate complimentary shuttle services; and
21 WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation requires the local government to
22 authorize all temporary road closures on state roadways; and
23 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the
24 best interests of the city's citizens and residents to approve the temporary lane closures in the
25 right lane of State Road 5 (Federal Highway) from NE 15th Avenue to Gateway Boulevard and
26 approximately 400 feet of the left lane heading Southbound from Gateway Boulevard on State
27 Road 5 (Federal Highway) on Friday, July 4, 2025 for the annual 4th of July event, and authorize
28 the City Manager, or designee, to apply for the State permit for the temporary road closure.

3() NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
31 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
32 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
33 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption.
34 SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby
35 approve the temporary lane closures in the right lane of State Road 5 (Federal Highway) from NE
36 15th Avenue to Gateway Boulevard and approximately 400 feet of the left lane heading
37 Southbound from Gateway Boulevard on State Road 5 (Federal Highway) on Friday, July 4, 2025
38 for the annual 4th of July event.
39 SECTION 3. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby
40 authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to apply for permits from the Florida Department of
41 Transportation pursuant to Chapter 14-65, Florida Administrative Code, for said temporary
42 closings.
43 SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect in accordance with the law.
