8 AMOUNT OF $57,200, DUE TO UNFORESEEN BUILDING CONDITIONS;
9 AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES.
10
11 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department, in collaboration with the Construction Services
12 Division, initiated an exterior painting project at the Intracoastal Park Clubhouse, Pavilion, and
13 Bathroom as part of the City's adopted FY2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). This project was
14 solicited through an existing contract and Purchase Order No. 251240 issued to RMJ Contractors
15 Inc.; and
16 WHEREAS, during surface preparation, the Contractor identified multiple deteriorated
17 areas that were not visible before work began. These damaged sections require immediate repair
u< to maintain the structural integrity and extend the lifespan of the facility's exterior. These
1Q conditions were unforeseen and fell outside the original scope of work. RMJ Contractors, Inc., the
err Vendor currently on site, was equipped to perform the necessary repairs. To avoid project delays
21 and additional mobilization costs, the department recommended that the contractor proceed with
22 the work with approval through the City Manager's Office. Since the revised change order amount
23 exceeds the City Manager's approval level and the purchase order threshold, the City Commission
24 is required to ratify this change order, which increased the purchase order to $57,200; and
25 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the
26 best interests of the City's citizens and residents to ratify a Change Order to Purchase Order No.
