R25-132 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 4 BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE LEASE BUYOUT OF THIRTY (30) 5 2021 RXV ELITE GOLF CARS IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,754.40 AND THE 6 PURCHASE OF NINETY (90) NEW GOLF COURSE CARTS, GPS, & 7 UTILITY EQUIPMENT FOR THE LINKS FROM EZGO DIVISION OF 8 TEXTRON, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $942,557.45, FOR A TOTAL 9 PURCHASE OF $980,311.85, UTILIZING THE NATIONAL OMNIA 10 PARTNERS COOPERATIVE CONTRACT NO. R210201, AND FOR ALL 11 OTHER PURPOSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, golf carts are an essential component of operations at The Links Golf Course, 14 serving both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction; and 15 WHEREAS,staff at The Links Golf Course has evaluated its current utility fleet, Range Picker 16 vehicle, and the need for a transport vehicle for instructional programs, and determined that 17 maintenance issues have also dramatically increased over the last year, and that it is in the City's 18 best interest to replace these units with new vehicles under a 5-year factory warranty, as opposed 19 to continually repairing out-of-warranty carts; and 20 WHEREAS, staff has requested approval for the lease buyout of thirty 2021 RXV Elite Golf 21 Carts in the net amount of $37,754.40; and 22 WHEREAS, in addition, staff recommends utilizing the OMNIA Partners Contract No. 23 R210201,which offers a 10%discount off the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP)for the 24 RXV Electric Elite (Model #10002915) to purchase ninety (90) golf carts at a unit price of$8,655.27 25 each, for a total purchase amount of $778,974.30, the purchase includes the trade-in of sixty (60) 26 existing carts, which would generate a rebate of $132,000; after deducting the outstanding lease 27 balance of $75,510 on those carts, the City would realize a net trade-in value of $56,490, which 28 will further reduce the overall cost of the purchase; and 29 WHEREAS, additionally, Pace GPS has been utilized at The Links for three years, and staff 30 is requesting the purchase of 90 units of Pace GPS Technology for each golf cart in the amount of 31 $130,320; and 32 WHEREAS, the total amount for the lease buyout and the purchase of new golf course 33 carts, GPS, & utility equipment is an amount not to exceed $980,311.85; and 34 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the 35 best interests of the City's citizens and residents to approve the purchase of 90 new golf course 36 carts, GPS, & utility equipment for The Links from EZGO Division of Textron, Inc., in the amount of 37 $942,557.45, utilizing the National OMNIA Partners Cooperative Contract No. R210201, and 38 approve the lease buyout of thirty (30) 2021 RXV Elite Golf Cars in the amount of $37,754.40. 39 40 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 41 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 42 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 43 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption. 44 SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby 45 approve the a total expenditure of $980,311.85 for the purchase of ninety (90) new golf course 46 carts, GPS, & utility equipment for The Links from EZGO Division of Textron, Inc., in the amount of 47 $942,557.45, utilizing the National OMNIA Partners Cooperative Contract No. R210201, and 48 approve the lease buyout of thirty (30) 2021 RXV Elite Golf Cars in the amount of $37,754.40. 49 SECTION 3. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby 50 authorizes the Mayor to execute any ancillary documents as may be necessary to accomplish the 51 purpose of this Resolution. 52 SECTION 4.
