1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
2 BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INCREASE TO THE ANNUAL
3 EXPENDITURE FROM $90,000 TO $140,000 FOR TIRESOLES OF
4 BROWARD, INC., D/B/A ELPEX TIRE, AN AUTHORIZED VENDOR OF
5 THE GOODYEAR TIRE AND RUBBER COMPANY, FOR THE PURCHASE
6 OF RECAP/RETREAD TIRES FOR THE CITY'S FLEET; AND FOR ALL
7 OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, on May 20, 2025, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R25-126
i approving the purchase of recap/retread tires for the City's fleet for five years with an annual
12 expenditure of $90,000 utilizing a NASPO contract with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company,
13 Inc., through its authorized dealer, Tiresoles of Broward, Inc., d/b/a Elpex Tire; and
14 WHEREAS, the City desires to increase the annual expenditure to $140,000 for the
15 continued purchase of recap/retread tires. The authorized increase is necessary to maintain
16 upkeep on the City's Fleet by providing recap tires. Recap tires are a third of the cost of a new tire;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the
IQ best interests of the City's citizens and residents to approve an increase to the annual expenditure
20 from $90,000 to $140,000 for Tiresoles of Broward, Inc., d/b/a Elpex Tire, an authorized vendor of
21 The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, for the purchase of recap/retread tires for the City's

24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
25 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
26 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
27 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption.
28 SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby
29 approve an increase to the annual expenditure from $90,000 to $140,000 for Tiresoles of Broward,
30 Inc., d/b/a Elpex Tire, an authorized vendor of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, for the
31 purchase of recap/retread tires for the City's Fleet.
32 SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect in accordance with the law.
