R25-213 RESOLUTION NO. R25-213 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 2 BEACH, FLORIDA,APPROVING THE TRADE-IN OF THE CITY'S EXISTING 3 2008 SPH FIRE APPARATUS FOR $350,000 TO BRINDLEE MOUNTAIN 4 FIRE APPARATUS, AND APPROVING THE REVISED PROPOSAL 5 REFLECTING A $350,000 TRADE-IN CREDIT FOR THE CITY'S EXISTING 6 2008 SPH APPARATUS; AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 9 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department is in the final stages of 10 receiving a new Sutphen SPH100 aerial apparatus procured under Purchase Order No. 230926. t Since that time, the City has negotiated a trade-in arrangement to offset a portion of the cost of 12 the new unit; and 13 WHEREAS, Sutphen Corporation has issued a revised proposal reflecting a $350,000 14 trade-in credit for the City's existing 2008 SPH apparatus. This offer, provided through Brindlee 15 Mountain Fire Apparatus, represents a cost-saving opportunity and will be applied directly to 16 reduce the final purchase price of the new unit. Payment will be made by Brindlee Mountain Fire 17 Apparatus directly to Sutphen Corporation; and 18 WHEREAS, this trade-in arrangement was not part of the original purchase quote but was 19 pursued to maximize asset value and reduce the City's financial obligation. Final acceptance of 20 the trade-in offer is contingent upon the City providing current pump and aerial certifications, as 21 well as other required documentation, prior to releasing the unit; and 22 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the 23 best interests of the City's citizens and residents to approve the trade-in of the City's existing 2008 24 SPH fire apparatus for $350,000 to Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, and approve the revised 25 proposal reflecting a $350,000 trade-in credit for the City's existing 2008 SPH apparatus. 26 27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 28 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 29 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 30 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption. 31 SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby RESOLUTION NO. R25-213 32 approve the trade-in of the City's existing 2008 SPH fire apparatus for $350,000 to Brindlee 33 Mountain Fire Apparatus, and approve the revised proposal reflecting a $350,000 trade-in credit 34 for the City's existing 2008 SPH apparatus, as further detailed in Exhibit A, attached hereto. 35 SECTION 3. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby 36 authorizes the City Manager to execute any ancillary documents as may be necessary to 37 accomplish the purpose of this Resolution. 38 SECTION 4.
