R25-277 RESOLUTION NO. R25-277 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 2 BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S APPLICATION FOR THE 3 2026-27 EMS MATCHING GRANT OFFERED BY THE FLORIDA 4 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,275.76, AND IF 5 AWARDED, AUTHORIZE THE CITY TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND 6 EXECUTE ALL FUTURE DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE GRANT; 7 AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 10 WHEREAS, Section 401.113, Florida Statutes, gives the Florida Department of Health 11 authority to dispense funds contained in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Trust Fund for 12 matching and rural grants. These grants are to improve and expand prehospital emergency 13 medical services in the state; and 14 WHEREAS, the Bureau of Emergency Medical Oversight, Grants Section, announced that i5 EMS Matching Grant proposals are being accepted for the fiscal year 2026-27. Proposals will be 16 accepted from August 1, 2025, through 11:59 pm EST on November 30, 2025; and 17 WHEREAS, the City is applying for funding for the 2026-27 EMS Matching Grant for the 18 amount of $20,275.76 for the purchase of two LUCAS CPR devices; and 19 WHEREAS, the requested grant funding for the project is up to $20,275.76 with a local 20 match of approximately $20,275.76; and 21 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the 22 best interests of the City's citizens and residents to authorize the City's application for the 2026- 23 27 EMS Matching Grant offered by the Florida Department of Health in the amount of$20,275.76 24 for FY 2025-2026, and if awarded, authorize the City to accept the Grant and execute all future 25 documents associated with the grant. 26 27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 28 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 29 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 30 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption. 31 SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby 32 authorize the City's application for the 2026-27 EMS Matching Grant offered by the Florida RESOLUTION NO. R25-277 33 Department of Health in the amount of $20,275.76 for FY 2025-2026, and if awarded, authorize 34 the City to accept the Grant. 35 SECTION 3. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby 36 authorize the Mayor to execute the Grant application, and if awarded, the Grant Agreement, and 37 any other document associated with applying for and accepting the Grant that does not otherwise 38 increase the financial obligations of the City, subject to the approval of the City Attorney's Office. 39 SECTION 4.
