R25-297 RESOLUTION NO. R25-297 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 2 BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, OR 3 DESIGNEE, TO APPLY FOR THE STATE PERMIT NECESSARY TO 4 TEMPORARILY CLOSE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5 6, 2025, FOR THE 54TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE; AND FOR ALL 6 OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, Federal Highway, between Woolbright Road and N.E. 1st Avenue, serves as the 9 staging and parade route for the Annual Holiday Parade.The closing of this road requires a permit to from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and pursuant to Chapter 14-65 of the t t Florida Administrative Code, FDOT requires local governments to submit a Request for Temporary 12 Closing/Special Use of State Road, along with a resolution authorizing the event; and 13 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the 14 best interests of the city's citizens and residents to approve and authorize the Mayor, or designee, 15 to apply for the State permit necessary to temporarily close Federal Highway on Saturday, 16 December 6, 2025, for the 54th Annual Holiday Parade. 17 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 19 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 20 SECTION 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 21 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption. 2' SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby 23 approve and authorize the Mayor, or designee, to apply for the State permit necessary to 24 temporarily close Federal Highway on Saturday, December 6, 2025, for the 54th Annual Holiday 25 Parade. The Mayor or designee is further authorized to execute any ancillary documents as may 26 be necessary to accomplish the purpose of this Resolution. 27 SECTION 3.
