A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR THE
EXPANSION OF THE WILSON CENTER AND PARK
AREA FROM LAWTON MAPP; WAIVING THE
STATUTORY OBLIGATION OF OBTAINING AN
APPRAISAL, PURSUANT TO 166.045, FLORIDA
STATUTES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon recommendation of staff, has deemed it to
~e in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City to acquire property located at
1407 N.W. 1st Street, owned by Lawton Mapp for the expansion of the Wilson Center and
Park Area; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 166.045, Florida Statutes, as this purchase prices is less
$100,000 the City Commission has the authority to waive the statutory obligation of
obtaining an appraisal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
YHE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
Section. 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does
authorize the acquisition of property for the expansion of the Wilson Center and Park
from Lawton Mapp, waives the statutory obligation of obtaining an appraisal pursuant
166.045, Florida Statutes and authorizes the City Manager to execute all necessary

Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15' day of October, 2002.
