Petit Thievery.
An Ordinance providing for the apprehension and
arrest of Petit Thieves, defining the term and providing
a punishment therefor.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE T0~N COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF
BOYNTON, FLORIDA:
Sec. 1. That whoever commits larceny by stealing
of the property of another, fruits, plants or shrubbery,
goods or chattels, money,bank notes, bonds, promissory
notes, bills of exchange or other bill, order or certi-
ficate, or any book of account for or concerning money
or goods due, or to become due, or to be delivered, or
any deed of or wroting concerning a conveyance of land,
or any other valuable contract in force, or any writ,
process or public records if the property stolen is under
the value of Twenty Dollars (~20.00) shall be deemed guilty
of pettit thievery.
Sec. 2. That any person convicted thereof shall be
punished by imprisonment not exceeding ~xty days or by
fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars (~500.00), or
both such fine and imprisonment.
The above Ordinance No. ~0, having been read in full
at a meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Boynton,
Florida, held on the 7th day of August, A. D. 19~Z, was
adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the said Town
Commission held on the 21st day of August A. D. 19~G, and
a copy thereof posted at the front door of the Tov~a
Hall at Boynton, Florida, on the ~2nd day of August,
A. D. 1923.
