Town Clerk:
Sec. 1. The Town Clerk shall be the head of the De-
partment of Finance of the Town of Boynton and shall act
as Town Clerk, Tax Assessor, Tax Collector and Treasurer
of the Town of Boynton.
Sec. 2. The Town Clerk before entering upon the duties
of his or her office, shall give a bond, with two or more
sureties, or with an approved surety company as surety, in
the penal sum of Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, conditioned
upon his or her faithi~lly performing the duties of Town
Clerk, which bond shall be appro~d by the Commission.
Sec. 3. The Clerk shall receive for his or her ser-
vices as Clerk, Tax Assessor, Tax Collector and Treasurer,
an annual salary of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars, payable
monthly, and his or her fees for registering voters. All
other fees shall be turned into the Town Treasury.
Sec. 4. It shall be the duty of the Clerk to keep the
following books for the Town of Boynton.
1. A book of neat and accurate If-inutes of the Town
C ommi s si on.
2. A book of Ordinances and Rules of the Town
Commis sion.
3. A Town Improvement Lien Book.
4. A docket of the Mayor's Court.
Sec. 5. The minutes of each meeting of the Town
Commission shall be recorded by the Clerk in the Minute
Book of the Town Commission immediately after the adjourn-
ment of e~ch meeting; and at the next succeeding meeting they
shall be read, aud when approved, shall be signed by the Clerk.
Sec. 8. The Clerk shall attend to, and be responsible
for, the posting or publication of all ordinances, in the
manner prescribed by law. The Clerk shall also keep an exact
record of the date of such posting or publication.
Sec. 7. The ~lerk shall carefully file and preserve in
such a manner as may be easily accessible all communications
received by him or her as Clerk. The Clerk shall also keep
exact and literal copies of all communications sent or issued
by him or her as Clerk, and keep the same filed in a manner
easily accessible.
Sec. 8. Unless excused by the ~ayor, it shall be the
duty of the Clerk to attend the sessions of the Mayor's Court.
Sec. 9. The Clerk shall be the official custodian of
the books, papers, documents, records and seal of the Town
of Boynton, except that official bonds of officers and em-
ployees of the Town may be ordered by the Town Commission
to be deposited elsewhere for safe-keeping.
Sec. 10. In the absence or disability of the ~iayor
and also of the Vice-~ayor, the Clerk shall perform all
the duties of Mayor and Vi ce-~ayor, including the Judicial
functions prescribed in the charter of the Town of Boynton.
The above Ordinance No. 3 having been read in full at
a Meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Boynton,
Florida, held on the 26th day of August A. D. 1921, was
adopted and approved at a Eegular ~eeting of said Commission
held on the 6th day of September A. D. 1921, and a copy
thereof posted at the front door of the Town Hall at
Boynton, Florida, on the 7th day of September A. D. 1921.
