69-T RESOL UTION 69-T WHEREAS, the free and unrestricted passage of all vessels on the Intracoastal Waterway regardless of their height is an important factor which enhances the economy of this area and of the State of Florida as well; and WHEREAS, the larger the vessel temporarily or permanently docking in this area the more significant becomes its contribution to the economy of the area; and WHEREAS, since the owners of these larger vessels, for the part, purchase homesites in or near the area in which their boats are docked the level of property values in this area is directly benefited; and WHEREAS, the natural beauty of this immediate region of Lake Worth would be forever marred by the construction of a bridge at such a height so as not to require a drawspan; and WHEREAS, the over-all advantages of having large vessels come to this area far outweighs the cost of maintaining and operating a drawbridge; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: 1. That all parties concerned with this project be asked to give maximum consideration to the effect this matter will have upon the economy of this area. 3. That this City Council recommends the construction of a draw-bridge not over thirty feet (30') in height which would permit the passage of a great percentage of boats without requiring the span to be ope rate d frequently. 4.
