R66-YRESOLUTION NO. 66-y
WHEREAS, the United States of America has for many months last
past been engaged in certain combative warfare in Vier Nam, wherein numer-
ous American citizens have been wounded or killed and extensive damage and
loss of American property has been sustained; and,
WHEREAS, a continuation of the present strategy of containing the
enemy in this matter is deemed futile; and,
WHEREAS, it is believed that the United States of America presently
possesses thestrategic and tactical military strength to terminate this conflict
in victory at the present time;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, that President Lyndon B. Johnson,
Senators Spessard Holland and George Smathers, and Congressman Paul G.
Rogers, are hereby earnestly and respectfully urged to utilize the full powers
and influence of their respective offices to bring the existing war in Vier Nam
to an immediate and victorious conclusion and to further provide for the early
return of our fighting men in said area to their homes and families.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be
memorialized to each of the above-named officials.
