AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR
REAPPORTIONMENT OF THE CITY'S FOUR VOTING
DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT TO THE
BOUNDARY DESCRIPTIONS FOR THE FOUR (4) VOTING
DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the city Commission, in accordance with Section 17
of the City Charter has studied the issue of the re-apportionment
of the voting district boundaries on the
1990 and using the census information
Florida State and Federal CensUs; and

based upon the recommendations of the City's
staff regarding districting to accommodate growth
in the City's four voting districts; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby
ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby
made a specific part of this Ordinance.
Section 2. The boundaries for each of the four (4)
voting districts of the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, shall be as follows:
DISTRICT ~1
Bounded on the north by a line beginning at the center
line of the Intracoastal Waterway and the easterly
imaginary extension of the center line of S.E. 23rd
Avenue; thence running west along said extension to the
center line of Federal Highway; thence running north
along said center line to the center line of Woolbright
Road; thence running west along said center line to the
center line of Congress Avenue; thence running south
along said center line to the north right-of-way of the
L.W.D.D. L-28 canal; thence running west along said
right-of-way to the City's west corporate limits.

Railroad and N.E. 22nd Avenue; thence running south
along the F.E.C. Railroad to the center line of the
Boynton Canal C-16; also by a line beginning at the
center line of the Intracoastal Waterway and the
Boynton Canal C-16; thence running south along the
center line of the Intracoastal Waterway to the center
line of Ocean Avenue; also by a line beginning at the
F.E.C. Railroad and Ocean Avenue; thence running south
to the center line of S.E. 2nd Avenue.
Bounded on the south by the north boundary of District
No. 3.
Bounded on the west by the City's corporate limits.
DISTRICT
Bounded on the north by a line beginning at the center
line of the Intracoastal Waterway and the center line
of Ocean Avenue; thence running west on said center
line to the F.E.C. Railroad; thence running south along
F.E.C. Railroad to the center line of S.E. 2nd Avenue;
thence running west along said center line to the
S.A.L. Railroad; thence running north along S.A.L.
Railroad to the center line of W. Ocean Avenue; thence
running west along said center line to the center line
of S.W. 8th Avenue; thence running north along said
center line to the center line of Boynton Beach
Boulevard; thence running west along said center line
to the City's west corporate limits.
Bounded on the south by the north boundary of District
No. 1.
Bounded on the east and west by the City's corporate
limits.
DISTRICT #4
Bounded on the south by a line beginning at the center
line of the intracoastal waterway and the Boynton Canal
C-16; thence running west along the center line of said
canal to the F.E.C. Railroad; thence north along the
F.E.C. Railroad to N.E. 22nd Avenue; thence west on
N.E. 22nd Avenue to the City's west corporate limits.
Bounded on the east by the City's corporate limits and
the Intracoastal Water (center line).
Bounded on the north and west by the City's corporate
limits.

Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4. In the event any portion of this Ordinance is
deemed invalid, illegal or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such decision shall in no manner effect
the remaining portions or sections of this Ordinance and shall
remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. Authority is hereby granted to codify said
ordinance.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon adoption by second reading.
