65-WRESOLUTION NO. 65-W WHEREAS, a vacancy in the office of the Chief of Police of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has been created by the resignation of Police Chief JAMES A. ERWIN, JR.; and WHEREAS, it is deemed essential thai a successor be appointed to said office; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida: 1. That, pursuant to the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of said City, Assistant Police Chief MICHAEL J. STROMICK, is hereby appointed acting police chief of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, for the period from June 3, 1965 to June 17, 1965, and thai said MICHAEL J. STROMICK is hereby further appointed Provisional Police Chief of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, effective June 17, 1965. 2. That the Personnel Officer of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, in conjunction with the Civil Service Board of Appeals, is hereby directed to immediately institute the necessary procedures for the prepara- tion and conduct of a merit system examination for the said MICHAEL J. STROMICK to establish his qualifications for permanent appointment to the office of Chief of Police of said City. 3. That effective June 17, 1965, the said MICHAEL J. STROMICK shall be entitled to compensation as set forth and established in the municipal budget of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, for the fiscal year 1964-1965, for the office of Chief of Police of said City, payable as other municipal salaries are paid.
