65-I RESOLUTION NO. 65-I
WHEREAS, the Building Inspector of the CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA, has heretofore condemned ce~'l~:-,in structures located on
Lots 7 through 12 inclusive, Block 8, ROBERT ADDITION TO BOYNTON
BEACH, and has properly notified the owner and other interested parties of
said findings and has requested lhat said structures be demolished or the
de£ects indicated corrected~ and
WHEREAS, said owner and other interested parties have failed and
refused to remove or abate said conditions; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, after proper notice to said owner and other interested parties,
conducted a public hearing at its Regular Meeting of January 18, I965, for the
purpose of affording said parties an opportunity to show cause why the Cily
should not proceed with the abatement, removal or correction of said situatiol
and
WHEREAS, at said hearing evidence substantiating the existence of
the objectionable conditions were submitted to the City Council and no valid or
justifiable reasons were presented as to why said conditions should not be
abated,
NOW~ THEREFORE' be it resolved by the City Council of the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
(1). That the two certain structures presently located on Lots
7 through 12 inclusive, Block 8, ROBERT ADDITION TO BOYNTON
BEACH, recorded in Plat Book 1, Page 51, public records of
Palm Beach County, Florida, consisting of "service station
facility" and "bus station facility" constitute, hazardous structures
due to inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, obsolescence,
broken windows, absence of doors, exposed roof beams, rotten
support structures, exposed wiring, presence of debris and
junk and inadequate sanitary facilities, and as such constitute
nuisances, eye-sores and detriments to the health, safety and
welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
(2) That said buildings are hereby condemned and ordered
demolished and removed pursuant to the provisions of Section
7 (20) of the codified charter of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida. In the event the owner or other interested
parties fail to demolish said buildings or correct the
objecti~mable conditions wilhin the lime limits afforded,
the City shall institute necessary proceedings for the
demolition and removal of said buildings and assess
the cost thereof against the land.
