62-OORESOLUTION NO. 62-00
WHEREAS, the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, is the
owner of all land abutting that portion of Northwest 19th Avenue, a dedicated
public street within the limits of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, lying
westerly from the southerly extension of the east line of Lot 77, Block 21,
ROLLING GREEN RIDGE, FIRST ADDITION; and
WHEREAS, the above described portion of said publicly dedicate.
thoroughfare has never been laid out, improved or used by the general
public; and
WHEREAS, said thoroughfare is a dead end street terminating
at the easterly right of way line of State Road No. 9, which is a proposed
limited access highway; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed essential that the above described
portion of subject street right of way be abandoned to enable the City to
develop its land holdings in subject area as a composite park site; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the abandonment of the above
described portion of subject public roadway in the best interest of the
public and no valid reason exists why subject roadway should not be vacated,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
1. That the following described portion of Northwest 19th
Avenue is hereby vacated, nullified, closed and abandoned
and subject area is hereby returned to acreage for purposes
of taxation:
"That portion of Northwest 19th Avenue, lying westerly
from the southerly extension of the east line of Lot 77,
Block 21, ROLLING GREEN RIDGE, FIRST ADDITION,
a subdivision of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida,
recorded in Plat Book 24, Pages 223 to 226 inclusive."
