R99-119RESOLUTION R99-//~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A TENTATIVE MILLAGE RATE OF 7.8160 FOR THE CITY'S GENEPJ~L OPEP~ATING FUND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1999 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2000; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WI{EREAS, a tentative budget has been prepared estimating expenses and revenues of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, for the ensuing year, with detailed information, including revenues to be derived from sources other than ad valorem levy, and the administrative staff the amount necessary and of the City has made recommendations as to to be appropriated for the ensuing year; WI~EREAS, the City Commission has met and considered the recommendations, the suggested tentative budget, and the proposed millage necessary to be levied to carry on the government of the City for the ensuing year; WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has followed the procedures as outlined in Florida Statutes Section 200.065; and W~EREAS, Florida Statutes Section 200.065(5) provides ministerial adjustment of the aggregate millage rate receipt of the final tax roll. for a after NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACE, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The proposed general operating budgets tentative Millage Rate for the 1999-2000 Fiscal Year shall be !7.8160 (for the General Fund), plus 0.4249 for Voted Debt Service for a total Proposed Tentative Millage Levl; of 8.2409 for the 1999-2000 Fiscal Year. Section 2. A copy of the tentative budget shall be oublished in one issue of a newspaper published in Palm Beach ~ounty, Florida, and at the same time the public will be notified of a public hearing to be held on the 21st day ~f September. 1999, at _6:00 P.M. for the purpose of hearing objections or criticisms of the tentative budget and millage. This meeting is for the purpose of setting a final tax levy and final budget. Section 3. The proposed millage rate is 3.25% above the computed rolled back rate. Section 4. If any clause, section, or other part of this Resolution shall be held by any Court of competent urisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, such nconstitutional or invalid part shall be considered as eliminated and shall in no way affect the validity of the other provisions of this Resolution.
