OPENINGS:
A. Call To Order
Mayor Weiner called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. Vice Mayor Matson will
not be in attendance due to pending surgery on March 12, 1993.
B. Invocation - Moment of Silent Prayer
A moment of silent prayer was observed.
C. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Joshua Katz
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Commissioner Katz' son, Joshua.
D. Agenda Approval:
1. Additions, Deletions, Corrections
2. Adoption
Commissioner Harmening moved the adoption of the agenda as presented.
Commissioner Aguila seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
E. Announcements:
1. Next Regular City Commission Meeting will be held Tuesday,
March 16, 1993
Mayor Weiner made this announcement.
PUBLIC AUDIENCE:
Wllda Searcy, 402 NE 13th Avenues spoke of the proposed high school in Boynton
Beach and discrimination. She accused Commissioner Harmening of rezoning the
Black when he was Mayor of Boynton Beach.
Commissioner Harmening stated it is completely untrue that he has ever rezoned
the area Mrs. Searcy mentioned.
Ms. Parker confirmed that the School Board meeting on March 17, 1993 will
address Poinciana School and the meeting on April 7, 1993 will address the high
school.

A. Accept resignation from Davtd Katz, Comnunlty Redevelopment Advlsory
Board
Commissioner Aguila moved to accept Mr. Katz' resignation from the Community
Redevelopment Advisory Board. Commissioner Walshak seconded the motion which
carried unanimously.
B. Canvass and accept general electton returns from Tuesday, Hatch 9, 1993
City Clerk Sue Kruse announced that the election results were certified by the
Supervisor of Elections. They are as follows:

Commissioner Harmening moved to accept the certified election returns from
Jackie Winchester's Office from the general election held on March 9, 1993.
Commissioner Aguila seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
C. Proclan~tton - Run-Off Election - March 23, 1993
Mayor Weiner read a Proclamation declaring a run-off election to be held in the
City of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, on March 23, 1993, to elect a
Mayor to serve a two-year term. The voting hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00
p.m. and the polling places are designated in the Proclamation.

Commissioner Harmening moved to accept the Proclamation. Commissioner Aguila
seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
PRESENTATIONIACKNOWLEDGEHENT AND APPRECIATIOH OF SERVICE TO COMMISSIONER JOSE
AGUILAAND COMMISSIONER ED HA~-~NING
Mayor Weiner and City Manager Miller presented plaques to both Commissioners in
appreciation of their many hours of dedicated service to the City of Boynton
Beach during the years 1991 to 1993.
Commissioner Aguila deferred his remarks until later in the meeting.
Commissioner Harmening stated it has been a pleasure serving the City and its
residents and working with the Commissioners. There have been numerous problems
faced by the City which have been solved in a generally-accepted manner. He
looks forward to serving the City and its residents as Mayor.
Commissioner Harmening left the dais.

Commissioner Aguila.

Commissioner Aguila announced his pleasure with being reelected. He felt he ran
a good, clean campaign and was rewarded by the citizens who felt he had done a
good job. In the next two years, he will do his best to represent all of the
citizens of Boynton Beach in a dignified manner.

Commissioner Katz congratulated Shirley Stevens for an excellent campaign and
hopes she continues her service to the City. He thanked the residents of
Boynton Beach for voting. He thanked his campaign workers, supporters and the
press for treating his campaign with courtesy and fairness. He spoke of two
special people who impacted his life; namely, his mother-in-law and his aunt.
He introduced his parents, wife and two sons. He looks forward to serving all
of Boynton Beach and serving with the Commission in an effort to positively move
the City toward the 21st century.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Commissioner Katz moved to adjourn the meeting
at 5:22 p.m. Commissioner Aguila seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
