Mayor Taylor called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., and announced that this would be the final budget
hearing on the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 1998/99. He requested that the record reflect the fact that
Mayor Pro Tem Tillman is in Washington, D.C.
Reverend Hahn offered the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Vice Mayor
Jaskiewicz.
1, PUBL]:C HEARZNG ON 1.998/99 PROPOSED BUDGET
Attorney Cherof announced that this would be the second and final budget public hearing to establish the
millage rate and adopt the budget. Following the public hearing, the Commission will adopt a Resolution
establishing the final millage rate and an Ordinance establishing the final budget.
There were no questions from the Commissioners.
MAYOR TAYLOR ANNOUNCED THE PUBLIC HEARING. THERE WAS NO ONE PRESENT WHO WISHED TO
SPEAK ON THIS ITEM.
2. PROPOSED RESOLUTI'ON NO. R98-1.S1. RE: ADOPTI'ON OF FI'NAL MTLLAGE RATE
FOR FI'SCAL YEAR 1.998/99
Attorney Cherof read Proposed Resolution No. R98-151 by title only:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
ADOPTING A FINAL MILLAGE RATE OF 7.8160 MILLS. FOR THE CITY'S GENERAL
OPERATING FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1998, AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 1999; PROVIDING THAT THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE OF 7.8160 MILLS IS 0
PERCENT (0.00°/o) ABOVE THE COMPUTED ROLLED-BACK RATE; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Motion
Commissioner Titcomb moved to approve. Vice Mayor ,laskiewicz seconded the motion that carried 4-0.

1998, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1999; DETERMINING AND FIXING THE AMOUNTS
NECESSARY TO CARRY ON THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR;
DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF APPLICABLE FUNDS ON HAND; ESTIMATING RECEIPTS
FOR THE GENERAL FUND; VOTED DEBT SERVICE FUNDS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT

Motion
Commissioner Denahan moved to approve. Commissioner Titcomb seconded the motion. City Clerk Sue
Kruse polled the vote. The vote was 4-0.

adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
