I. CALLTO ORDER
In the absence of the Chairperson, Vice Chair Waldman called the meeting to
order at 7:20 p.m.
II. MOMENT OF SILENT PRAYER - PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Vice Chair Waldman called for a moment of silent prayer and requested that Ms.
Lori Wilkinson lead the members in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
III. APPROVAL OFAGENDA
Vice Chair Waldman announced that due to the fact that the Youth Volunteer
Banquet is scheduled for tomorrow night, except for addressing a few items on
the agenda, the regular agenda will be dispensed with so that the members can
prepare the certificates and awards for the banquet.
Vice Chair Waldman displayed the plaque that will be used for the Bob Borovy
Student Citizen of the Year Award, which will be hung in City Hall. First place
went to Ms. Christina Milsted from Atlantic High School and Ms. Milsted will
receive a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond. Second place winner was Jessica
Aperavich, who will receive a $500 U.S. Savings Bond and there was a tie for

third place between Alissa Talsma and Kenneth Zylstra. Each of these winners
will receive a $200 U.S. Savings Bond.
Ms. Wilkinson inquired if this award would be given out each year and Vice Chair
Waldman said it would be determined on a year-by-year basis.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

V. ANNOUNCEMENTS/PRESENTATIONS/CORRESPONDENCE

VI. PUBLIC AUDIENCE

VII. OLD BUSINESS
A. Bowling Banquet
Vice Chair Waldman noted this will be addressed at future meetings.
Vice Chair Waldman asked if any member had anything they wished to address
before the meeting adjourned?
B. Youth Volunteer Bank
Ms. Wilkinson announced that East West Karate will be making an in-kind
donation. Vice Chair Waldman also announced that Benvenuto Restaurant,
Torchio's, and Atlanta Bread Company would be making in-kind donations as
well. He is still waiting to hear from Home Depot.
Because Cone's Law Firm was unable to supply the cake this year, Vice Chair
Waldman ordered two sheet cakes from Publix Market, which he will pick up.
Mr. Borovy announced that Jo-Al's Restaurant will be providing 250 meals for the
banquet. He will also pick up 25 two-liter bottles of soda, as well as cups and
napkins at Winn-Dixie. The Board gave approval by consensus.
Ms. Claude will be supplying the helium tank for the balloons.

Ms. Morera pointed out that normally the Board would be voting for chairperson
and vice chairperson tonight. Chairperson St. John asked Ms. Morera to request
that the Board make a motion to suspend voting for officers until the June
meeting.
Motion
Mr. Borovy moved to suspend the nomination of officers until the June 2000
meeting. Motion seconded by Ms. Wilkinson, which carried unanimously.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
Vice Chair Waldman called for a motion to dispense with the remainder of the
agenda.
Motion
Ms. Morera moved to suspend the remainder of business, which was seconded
by Mr. Borovy and unanimously approved.
The meeting properly adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
