PROPOSED CODE CHANGE TO PARKING LOT ORDINANCE
The current Parking Lot Ordinance is mute on the point of how to define
a lgt which is paved, yet vehicle access is denied. I propose a change
to Our Parking Lot Ordinance whereby paved lots Which are not utilized
for Vehicular parking are not c!assif-ied as parking lots.
In ~rder to rectify this situation, I propose to add the following
und,.rlined~ words to the definition of a parking lot:

proposal will alleviate the necessity for paved, vacant lots which
~ibit vehicular access from the necessity of maintaining their lot in
ormance with the Parking Lot Ordinance. A strict reading of the
ent code would demand that any paved lot, which is not utilized for
ting purposes, maintain wheel stops, striping and other code related
~irements.
other remedy to 100% maintenance would be to strip the asphalt and
~rlying shell rock and sod or seed the site. Utilizing this remedy
~ssitates a great expense to lot owners and in the long run,
resents a much more intensive maintenance problem for overgrown
ds, trash and debris.
~=lieve this proposal will assure that t~e life, health, safety and
fare of our citizens wi%l be malnta%~e~ wh~le not creating an undue
hardship on vacant, paved 1. ot owness.
