Mr. Bobich reported that Proud to be a Safe Worker Awards were presented to
Bill McLain, Richard Stone, Ken Gerecke and Terry Dauemler, who are
employed at the City's West Water Treatment Plant. After the rehabilitation of
the fluoride solution storage tanks, these employees noticed that a pipe in the
tank containment area was unguarded that could result in damage to the tank or
that could cause people to trip and fall. As a result, these employees made and
installed a pipe guard to protect the pipe and painted it safety yellow to call
attention to it to help protect against a potential trip hazard. A copy of the Award
was presented to the Recording Secretary for inclusion in the file.

utilized were unsafe. The proper outlets have since been installed by Facilities.
Chairman Balfe stated that Mr. Magazine had informed him that the Palm Beach
County Fire Department inspected the West Water Treatment Plant. They were
very impressed with the professionalism of the staff and noted how neat and
orderly the Plant was maintained. Congratulations to the Utility staff.
Mr. Bobich explained that since the West Water Treatment Plant is located in the
County, they are the ones that inspect it.
