A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORI DA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO ACCEPT AND EXECUTE THE
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAY SAFETY SUBGRANT, IN
THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $62,500; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.-
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Police Department applied for
and has been awarded a subgrant from the Department Of Highway Safety in
the total amount of $62,500.00, and
WHEREAS, $53,000 of the total amount will be utilized for the purchase
of ten (10) in car video cameras, and $9,500 will be utilized for the purchase of a
traffic trailer, which will house the lights, traffic cones, generator and other traffic
related equipment; and
WHEREAS, the addition of this equipment will allow more officers to
videotape their contacts with the public, along with the filming of DUI arrests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby
authorizes and directs the Mayor and City Clerk to accept and execute the
Department of Highway Safety subgrant application in the amount of $62,500. A
copy of the agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
passage.
