HELD AT CITY HALL, BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 1987 AT 5:30 P. M.
PRESENT
Nick Cassandra, Mayor
Carl Zimmerman, Vice Mayor
Ralph Marchese, Councilman
Ezell Hester, Councilman
Dee Zibelli, Councilwoman
Peter L. Cheney, City Manager
Betty S. Boroni, City Clerk
Raymond Rea, City Attorney
Mayor Cassandra called the meeting to order at 5:30 P. M.
RECEIPT OF GENERAL ELECTION RETURNS
The Mayor read the results per the attached sheets.
~ouncilman Hester moved to accept the results, seconded by
Councilman Marchese. Motion carried 5-0.
~ayor Cassandra announced that a runoff will be held for all
three positions. He read a proclamation proclaiming the
runoff election will be held on March 24, 1987.
APPROVAL OF BILL FOR SEPPALA ~& AHO OF FLORIDA, INC.
Mr. Cheney informed the Council this is just a routine bill
~or the construction work on the building to the east. It
is approved by the architect and City. Vice Mayor Zimmerman
moved to pay this bill in the amount of $165,759, seconded
by Councilwoman Zibelli. Motion carried 5-0.
APPROVAL OF CHERRY HILLS PROJECT CHANGE ORDERS
Tr. Cheney advised that both the water main replacement and
concrete sidewalk relate to the same project and a memo has
been submitted giving an explanation. He referred to the
Mayor asking about these change orders ~being refunded by
Community Development and explained the various possibili-
ties for refunding, but added that the City may pay 10% or
15%. He added that this is consistent with the original
design and sidewalks have been requested in this area.
Councilman Hester moved to approved the change orders for
the Cherry Hills project, seconded by Councilwoman Zibelli.
Motion carried 5-0.
OTHER
. Cheney stated on the next agenda, there will be a list
some proposals for Community Development funding for the
oming year. He also suggests that the total Council take a
rip around the City in April.

MARCH 11, 1987
Mayor Cassandra suggested that the City Clerk submit notifi-
cation of the vacancies on all the boards that are coming
due in April, so the Council of old will know ahead of time
what vacancies will occur. He would also appreciate an
absentee report. Councilman Hester referred to this listing
designating who will do the appointing and Mayor Cassandra
~greed it should include that. City Manager Cheney asked if
they wanted to continue with the same rotation system and
received affirmative responses.
Mr. Cheney advised that extra copies of the agenda will be
distributed on Friday to the candidates who made the runoff.
ADJOURNMENT
Councilwoman Zibelli moved to adjourn. The motion was
seconded, unanimously carried and the meeting properly
adjourned at 5:45 P. M.
