AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO.
88-14 TO PROVIDE FOR THE HOLDING OF A
SPECIAL BOND ELECTION IN THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH ON~ SEPTEMBER 6, 1988
RATHER THAN JUNE:~7,.~ 1988, AS ORIGINALLY
SCHEDULED; PROVIDING THAT EACH AND EVERY
TERM AND PROVISION OF ORDINANCE~ 88-14
SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS
PREVIOUSLY ENACTED; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on the 5th day of April, 1988, the City
Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, duly
adopted Ordinance No. 88-14, providing for the holding of a
Special Bond Election in the City of Boynton Beach on June
7, 1988; and
WHEREAS, it is advantageous and beneficial to the
citizens of the City of Boynton beach to reschedule said
Special Election from June 7, 1988, to the regularly
scheduled primary election to be held on september 6, 1988;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission now desires to reset said
Special Election;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOtqTI'ON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1.
That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 88-14 is
amended as follows by adding the words in underlined type
and by deleting the words and figures shown in
struck-through type to read as folloWs:
Notice of said election shall be
published in the Palm Beach Post, a
newspaper published and of general
circulation in the City of Boynton
Beach, at least twice, once in the fifth
week and once-in the third week prior to
the week in which the election is to be
held, the date of first publication in
said newspaper to be at least thirty
(30) days before said election, which
notice shall be substantially in the
following form:
NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
to be held on

As provided by an ordinance duly passed
and adopted by the City Commission of
the City of Boynton Beach on April 5,
1988, a special bond election will be
held on Tuesday,
~e-~7-~988
September 6, 1988
for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified electors of the City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, the following
question:
Shall bonds of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida, in an aggregate
principal amount not exceeding
$2,500,000.00 be issued for the purpose
of providing funds, together with any
other available funds, for paying the
cOst of acquiring a 10 acre parcel of
land along the intracoastal waterway
within the City of Boynton Beach,
commonly known as the Shooter's
Property, such bonds to mature at such
time or times not exceeding thirty years
from their date or dates as may be
determined by the City Commission, and
to bear interest at a rate or rates not
exceeding the maximum rate then
permitted by law, and'to be payable from
unlimited ad valorem taxes?
The polls at said election will be open
from 7 o'clock A.M. until 7 o'clock P.M.
of the same day.
Said election will be held at the same
polling places in the several precincts
of the City as the polling places for
the regular municipal election and the
election officers who will conduct said
special bond election will be the same
as those selected and appointed for said
regular municipal election.
In accordance with the constitution and
election laws of the State of Florida and
the Charter of the City of Boynton
Beach, all qualified electors of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida shall be
entitled to vote in the special bond
election to which this notice pertains.
The City of Boynton Beach shall be
authorized to issue the bonds covered by
the question hereinabove set forth to
the extent such issuance as to any of
said questions shall have been approved
by vote of a majority of the qualified
electors of the City of Boynton Beach
voting thereon.
By order of the City Commission of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
Section 2.
Each and every other provision of Ordinance
No. 88-14 shall remain in full force and effect as previously
enacted.
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall become effective
1988.
immediately upon passage.
