Present: Sean Fenton, Donna Harmening, Dan Holthouse, Barbara McGee, Valerie Pleasanton, Jeannie Taylor, Barbara Wilson Craig Clark, Virginia Farace Absent: Eleanor Daly The meeting was called to order at 4:35 P.M. by Chairman Valerie Pleasanton Chair's Report: Deferred Unfinished Business: Virginia reported that the addition is moving along. The final cost increases for change orders should be in next week and will be available for Commission action at their meeting on the third Tuesday in March. There will be a possible savings of $100,000 on Sales tax exemptions that can be applied to cost overages. Furniture should be ordered in April. The latest update for completion is February 2007. New Business: Deferred Director's Report: Employee position applications are in. Interviews have been conducted for the three openings for pages. The top four applicants have been selected for interviews for the administrative assistant position at the Museum. Craig reported he has a long planned pre-paid vacation scheduled for next week. Ellen Mancuso will assume his administrative duties. The monthly report has been posted. Virginia's mandatory retirement date will be effective Sunday February 26th. Chair's Report: The Library will be closed on Thursday, February 23rd from 11 :30 to 1:30 for a staffluncheon honoring Virginia. Valerie announced that a reception would be held in the library on February 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 to honor Virginia. Valerie suggested the Board recommend that Virginia be given the title of Library Director Emeritus. Sean Fentoon made the following motion: In honor of Virginia Farace's 35 years of dedicated service to the citizen's of Boynton Beach, we would like to honor her with the title of Library Director Emeritus. The motion was seconded by Dan Holthouse and approved by acclamation Sean moved that the Advisory Board request that the Mayor and Commission officially bestow the honorary title of Library Director Emeritus on retiring Director Virginia Farace and issue a proclamation in recognition of her service. Seconded by Dan Holthouse and approved by acclamation. Jeannie Taylor moved that in our position of Advisory Board we recommend that Virginia Farace be retained as a consultant on the Library project so her years of expertise and experience can be utilized on the project. Second by Sean Fenton. Passed by acclamation. Barbara McGee moved that the Board wishes to show their full support for Craig Clark to be officially named as Acting Director. Seconded by Jeannie Taylor. Approved by acclamation. Virginia eloquently expressed her thanks to all the Board members who had served over the past 35 years. All Board members expressed their personal gratitude to Virginia. Valerie stressed that we have a world class Library because of Virginia's guidance and leadership.
