R06- ,~~ 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 4 BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER 5 005 WITH SESSOMS CONSTRUCTION FOR THE 6 BOYNTON BEACH LIBRARY PROJECT; 7 INCREASING THE CONTRACT SUM BY $441,517.00; 8 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 9 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has reviewed Change Order 005 and has 12 determined that the contract changes set forth therein are both necessary and appropriate. 13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 14 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 15 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 16 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption 17 hereof. 18 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does 19 hereby authorize and direct the approval and execution of Change Order 005 in the amount 20 of $441,517 .00 with Sessons Construction for contract services for the Library Expansion 21 Project, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A". The new contract sum, including 22 all prior change orders is $7,078,810.00. 23 Section 3. The roof slab will be poured on June 19, 2006 and the roofing shall begin in early July. The building should be dried in by the end of July allowing work to proceed without the threat of weather delays. Project Schedule: The project's anticipated schedule of substantial completion is for late February of 2007 based on the delays by the unforeseen Bellsouth 600 pair cable and the loss of time due to Hurricane Wilma. Project Issues: 1. Contractor has signed on majority of subcontractors 2. Value Engineering (VE) analysis is complete and incorporated in change orders.
