RESOLUTION NO. 06-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA RENAMING
NORTHEAST/NORTHWEST 22ND AVENUE, FROM U.S.
HIGHWAY ONE WESTWARD TO JOG ROAD, TO
GATEWAY BOULEVARD; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 16, 1992, the City Commission discussed and adopted a motion that
renamed N.E./N.W. 22nd Avenue, from US. Highway One westward to Jog Road, to Gateway
Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the renaming ofN.E./N. W. 22nd Avenue to Gateway Boulevard specifically
requires that the City Commission adopt a resolution approving the name change;
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to re-affirm and confirm the action ofthe 1992
City Commission, and rename N.E./N.W. 22nd Avenue, from US. Highway One west to Jog
Road, as Gateway Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the renaming ofN.E./N.W. 22nd Avenue to
Gateway Boulevard will facilitate emergency services to City citizens, residents, and businesses,
and is in the best interest ofthe health, safety, and welfare ofthe citizens and residents ofthe City
of Boynton Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1:
The "Whereas" clauses set forth hereinabove related to proposed legislative
enactments are incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2:
The City Commission ofthe City of Boynton Beach, Florida reaffirms the
action taken by the City Commission at their meeting of June 16, 1992, and finds that the
renaming ofN.E./N. W. 22nd A venue to Gateway Boulevard from US. Highway One westward to
Jog Road will best facilitate emergency services to the residents.
Section 3: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
