AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING APPENDIX A - ZONING, SECTION 1.
DEFINITION OF TERMS TO AMEND THE
DEFINITION OF "FAMILY" BY PROVIDING MORE
SPECIFIC CRITERIA AND CLARIFICATION OF
THE FOSTER HOME PROVISIONS TO PERMIT
FOSTER FAMILY HOMES WITH CERTAIN
LIMITATIONS; PROVIDING THAT EACH AND
EVERY OTHER DEFINITION CONTAINED IN
SECTION 1. OF SAID ZONING CODE SHALL
REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS
PREVIOUSLY ENACTED; PROVIDING AUTHORITY
TO CODIFY; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS
CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. Appendix A - Zoning, Section 1. Definition
of Terms "FAMILY", is amended by adding the words and
figures in underlined type and by deleting the words and
figures shown in struck-through type as follows:
FAMILY. One (1) or more persons occupying a single
housekeeping unit and using common cooking facilities,
provided that ~ess-a~-memBe~s-a~e all such persons shall
be related by blood, marriage, or adoption, except that not
more than one (1) person who is not related as such shall
also be permitted to reside in the same unit. ~e-s~eh-~m~y

Families who provide care in their own home as duly State
licensed Foster Family Homes, in which children
have been duly plac~d by the State

Section 2: Each and every other provision of
Appendix A-Zoning, Section 1. Definition of Terms. shall
remain in full force and effect as previously enacted.
