AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 21. SIGNS. OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, TO AMEND
SECTION 21-15. SIGNS PERMITTED AND REGULATED.
TO CREATE A NEW SUBSECTION (H)REGULATING SIGNS
IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD);
PROVIDING THAT EACH AND EVERY OTHER PROVISION
OF CHAPTER 21. SIGNS. SHALL REMAIN IN FULL
FORCE AND EFFECT AS PREVIOUSLY ENACTED;
PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVIDING A
CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND
AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: Chapter 21. SIGNS, Sec. 21-15. Signs
permitted and regulated, of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by adding a new
subsection (H), which shall read as follows:
(H) CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD).

Non-illuminated real estate s.ign advertising
FOR SALE, FOR RENT, or FOR LEASE, may be
placed on the premises, and shall not exceed
sixteen (16) square feet in area.
2. Directional signs, which shall not exceed
four (4) square feet in area, nor exceed five
(5) feet in height above finished grade.
3. Signs necessary for public safety or welfare.
Business identification signs, which direct
attention to a use, business, profession,
service, or entertainment, conducted, sold or
offered upon the same premises on which it
it displayed, in compliance with the following
limitations:

Total signaqe face area permitted for
each business use shall be calculated
as not to exceed one (1) square foot of
sign for each one (1) linear foot of
exterior building front of such use, but
in no case shall the total signage face
area of all signs for any individual
use exceed one hundred sixty (160) square
feet.
Signs may be attached to the underside
of canopies, provided that such sign does
not exceed four (4) square feet in area, and
shall have at least eight (8) feet
clearance above pedestrian walks.
Signs attached to buildings shall not
exceed thirty (30) feet in height above
finished grade.
d. Signs attached to buildings shall not
project more than three (3) feet beyond the
wall face, and shall not project over a
property line.
e. Signs shall not be ,permitted on the roof,
or above the building face.
f. Signs may be illuminated by .a steady
light, provided that such lighting does
not illuminate adjacent property.
Section 2: Each and every other provision of Chapter
21. SIGNS, shall remain in full force and effect as previously
enacted.
Section 3: Specific authority is hereby given to
codify this Ordinance.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof be declared by a court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 6: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage.
