AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 19. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
GENERALLY, ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL,
SECTION 19-1. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD
CREATED; APPOINTMENT, TERMS. TO PROVIDE
THAT ALL MEMBERS OF THE BOARD SHALL SERVE
STAGGERED TERMS RANGING FROM ONE (1) TO
THREE (3) YEARS, TO BE FOLLOWED BY TERMS
OF THREE (3) YEARS THEREAFTER; PROVIDING
A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: Chapter 19. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
GENERALLY, Article I. In General, Section 19-1. Planning and
Zoning Board Created; Appointment, Terms, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 19-1. Planning and Zoning Board created;
appointment, terms.
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23 of the Charter
of the City, there is hereby created a Municipal
Planning and Zoning Board, which shall consist of seven
(7) members to be appointed by the City Council, eo

Two (2) members of the Board shall serve for a term of
one (1) year from the date of appointment; three (3)
members shall serve fox~a' term of two (2) years from
the date of appointmen%; two (2) members shall serve
for a term of three (3) years from the date of appoint-
ment. Vacancies created after expiration of these
terms shall be filled by appointments of three (3) year
terms. Members of the Board shall be residents and
electors of the City.
The Board shall also consist of two (2) alternate mem-
bers appointed by the City Council, ~o-~rv~-~r-t~rm~-
o~-o~e-ye~-~om-da~e-o~-appo~ntment. One alternate
shall serve for a term of one (1) year from the date of
appointment; the other alternate shall serve for a term
of two (2) years from the date of appointment. Said
members shall serve in the absence of a regular member
from the meeting.
SectiOn 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof be declared by a court of com-
petent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
