CORRESPONDENCE: None
CHAIR'S REPORT: Chairman Taylor reported on the opening of the new addition. It was a great
opening with wide spread community support.
Dan Holthouse asked if City Commissioners still had discretionary funds.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The elevator is now working. The old building has been completely
stripped. The scheduled completion date of the work there is six months. The east parking lot
should be completed in two weeks. The Library is closing at 7:30 P.M. because of the lack of
illumination in the parking lot. Hopefully this problem will be corrected next week. Items on the
punch list are being worked on after hours and Sundays.
NEW BUSINESS: OVER VIEW of OPENING DAY Ms. Watts gave anecdotes in addition to the
Chair's report.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: The State legislature has cut state aid money 4%. There may be more
cuts. We have no idea of the prospective operating costs of the new building as yet.
Grants were discussed. Asst. Director Watts advised that there were no direct library funds
available at this time from the Gates Foundation. -'J
