Minutes 08-23-00Boynton Beach City Library Advisory Board Minutes August 23, 2000 Present: Board members: Marva Collins, Madon Grammer, Alice Otis, Valerie Pleasanton, Dorothy Walker, Jane Zimmerman, Dan Holthouse, and Judy Sanders. Library Director: Virginia Farace. Guests: Ass't Library Director, A.D. Henehan. Absent: Alice Warren Co-Chair Marion Grammer opened the meeting at 3:05 PM in the program room of the Boynton Beach City Library. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as distributed. Letter from Alan R. Cohen congratulating Boynton Beach City Library Director and staff on good job was distributed. Memo from the City Manager, Kurt Bressner, containing the long and short-term goals of the City was passed out to all board members. City budget meetings announced for September 14, and September 20, at 6:30PM, in the City Commission Chambers. Boynton Beach City Library Long-Range Plan Final Draft was presented by Virginia Farace. After reading and discussion of each section of the plan, Dorothy moved to recommend to the City Commission that they approve the Library's Long-Range Plan. Marva seconded and motion passed unanimously. The Plan will be submitted for the Commission Agenda of September 19. The State Library requires that each .library's Long-Range Plan be approved by their goveming body. Virginia announced an Education Issues Roundtable, Au gust 31, 6PM, concerning South Tech and Congress Middle School hosted by the City's Education Advisory Board. Ali were invited to attend. The meeting was adjourned at 4:05PM. The next three Library Board meetings will be held on September 27, October 25 and November 29 (Nov/Dec combined meeting), at 3:00 PM. in the Library.
