NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The foregoing whereas clause is true and correct and is now ratified
and confirmed by the City Commission.
Section 2. That Section 55 of the City Charter of the City of Boynton Beach
~hall be amended to read as follows:
Sec. 50.
COMPENSATION OF

held in November, 2000 by separate ballot question.
Se_ction 4. The title of the ballot and explanatory statement setting forth the
substance of the proposed Charter Amendment shall appear on the ballot and shall read
as follows:

COMPENSATION OF MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
THIS AMENDMENT WOULD INCREASE THE MONTHLY'
COMPENSATION OF COMMISSION MEMBERS FROM
$350.00 TO $790.00 AND INCREASE THE MAYOR'S
MONTHLY COMPENSATION FROM $350.00 TO $1,000.00.
THE INCREASE WILL TAKE EFFECT AFTER THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF 2001.

Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida is hereby

Section 6. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances, Resolutions or parts of

Section 7. If any clause, section or other part of this Ordinance shall be held by
court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, such unconstitutiona,
or invalid__part shall be considered as eliminated and not effecting the validity of the
remaining POrtions of the Ordinance and its application shall remain in full force and
effect.
