01.05.01 - Emergency Relief Sites CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY MANUAL CHAPTER: 01 Administration Policy No. 01.05.01 SECTION: 05 Emergency Evacuations Page: 1 of 1 SUBJECT: 01 Emergency Relief Sites PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The purpose of this policy is to provide Incident Commanders and those responsible for evacuation of areas threatened by hazardous materials incidents, such as chemical leaks, fuel spills, or any areas which may be subject to damage as a result of an explosion, or any hazard as determined by the Incident Commander. PROCEDURE: When it becomes necessary to evacuate homes or other occupancies from an area threatened by hazardous leaks, spills, fires of a large magnitude, explosions or any hazard as determined by the Incident Commander, the following City facilities may be used as a temporary relief shelter for areas threatened within the City of Boynton Beach: 1. Civic Center: When evacuation is necessary for any area South of Boynton Beach Boulevard. 2. Ezell Hester Center: When evacuation is necessary for any area North of Boynton Beach Boulevard. 3. West of 1-95 and Seaboard Coastline Railway: Community Room at Fire Station III and the Police Training Facility adjacent to Fire Station III. When a facility is used as a temporary relief shelter, the Director of Recreation and Parks Department shall be notified first and advised of the facility or facilities needed and the estimated time needed for use.
