of Promotional Items, Messages and Collateral Pieces PURPOSE: 1. To present promotional and collateral information in a manner consistent with the policies and philosophies of the City
of Boynton Beach; 2. To ensure that the creation and use of promotional items, promotional messages and collateral pieces are consistent with the City’s Mission Statement and long range
communications goals; 3. To ensure consistency and uniformity in the creation and use of promotional items and collateral pieces; 4. To ensure that reasonable standards of quality are
met in the creation and use of promotional items and collateral pieces; 5. To maximize economy and efficiency in the creation and use of promotional items and collateral pieces. DEFINITIONS:
1. Promotional Item: A supplemental item created or modified to carry a message about or to advertise any aspect of the City of Boynton Beach. Such items include but are not limited
to pins, pens, pencils, magnets, key chains, paperweights, flags, banners, cups, hats, shirts, visors, bumper stickers. 2. Collateral Pieces: A text-based, supplemental item created
or modified to carry a message about or advertise any aspect of the City of Boynton Beach. Such items include but are not limited to flyers, brochures, pamphlets, booklets, newsletters,
post cards, letterhead, business cards, holiday cards, or electronic media such as television, Web pages or e-mail. 3. Promotional Messages: Any slogans, taglines or other short summary
statements referring to any aspect of the City of Boynton Beach and used on promotional items or in advertising or collateral pieces.
PROCEDURES: 1. All City funds budgeted or used to purchase promotional pieces or collateral pieces will be coordinated with the Public Affairs office. 2. While departments may use logomarks
of their own design to identify specific programs, all official correspondence and publications must also display the official City Seal. There may be some exceptions to this, such as
articles of clothing or other promotional items and will be considered on a case by case basis. 3. Logos and logomarks designed by third parties must be accompanied by authorization
for use as approved by the Legal Department or be trademarked by the City. 4. The Public Affairs office will be involved in the design of all logomarks and in the distribution of all
