Also, an incident occurred in the City Clerk’s Office 2 MEETING MINUTES SAFETY COMMITTEE BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA FEBRUARY 8, 2011 when an employee slipped and fell in the hallway on water that was spilled by another person. The staff placed the caution signs around the puddle to eliminate the possibility of someone else falling and contacted Facilities. Additionally, when carrying items employees should ask for assistance or make extra trips. Ms. Scott reported individuals take shortcuts in the parking garage and slip on rocks. Ms. Vicki said staff is continuing to be safety conscious in Public Works by performing housekeeping and making sure air hoses are wound. Ms. Rizzo spoke about two parks where sidewalk repairs are being made by the crews. She wasn’t hurt, but it could have resulted in an injury. The Human Resources Department has not had a problem with slips and falls. They have had issues with air quality and limited space. Discussion ensued about every person being responsible for safety including the Safety Coordinators. It is common sense to clean up a spill. Employees should use coffee cups with lids to help stop spills. It was recommended these suggestions be brought back to the departments for discussion during safety meetings. Call Facilities when the paper towels run out in the bathrooms or break room. The Safety Coordinators were reminded all incident reports involving slips must include remediation. Motor vehicle accidents will be discussed at the next meeting. B. Amending APM for Incident Review Board The proposed policy will be reviewed by the Safety Committee. C.
